The Direction of AI-based Music Education Implied by Heidegger's Ontology

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine AI-based music through the lens of Heidegger's ontology, and to seek the direction of music education through this. Heidegger posited that humans can reveal the existence of (non)humans through questioning and thought about existence, and that humans can also become existence-in- the-world through uncovering the existence of non-humans. This suggests a potential coexistence between AI and humans. Therefore, Heidegger's ontology allows us to explore how humans can reveal the existence of music in encounters with AI music, and how humans can become beings(Dasein) through this. To this end, music education must first start with the use of AI and expand its use to various tools included in music. Second, it must be able to ask questions about music and connect and expand knowledge centered on music. Third, AI-generated music and learners must co-exist. Finally, AI and humans should lead the transformative development of art together.
